Bruno Colin- Chassagne Montrachet 2012
Premier Cru - La Truffiere
May 29, 2017
This was a rich powerful expression of White Burgundy that was well balanced and also had an excellent combination of fruit, oak and acidity
This wine was very dark in color, almost like thick honey. Its aromas had initial hints of floral qualities with a touch of oak and citrus. It had a concentrated flavor, rich with ripe fruit, oak and vanilla. The wine developed and open up nicely over time, with a good middle palate and a long finish. While there were some elements of minerality and acidity, these elements took a back seat to some of the rich flavors displayed.. I think those looking for a more California-type expression of Burgundy, will be happy with this Bruno Colin offering. The wine is at or near its peak now so I would drink this wine over the next 2- 3 years. Cost $64.99/btl. Rating CW92+
