Philippe Colin - Chassagne Montrachet La Maltroie 2013
June 16, 2017
This very well crafted and elegant Chardonnay was creamy with oak, butter and citrus elements that made for a savory, medium-bodied wine.
This wine has a light yellow color with some oaky and moldy aspects to its nose. This was a medium-bodied, elegant wine with a creamy richness had elements of oak, butter and citrus. The wine was clearly an elegantly made wine and rather complex and well structured, but just not as powerful as I had anticipated. It had a slow start on the front palate and expanded on the middle palate giving it a reasonable finish. The fruit was a balance of citrus and deeper oak elements that paired nicely with oysters and salmon.
Cost $55/bottle.
